A SHAPE BAR CHORD
This bar chord is based on the voicing of the
open A chord. Remember when you play open A
you have the nut acting as a bar - what is often
called the natural bar. To make playing this bar
chord a little easier we “fold” or “flatten”
finger 3 across at least two strings. Be sure to
use the fingers shown in this diagram. Try the
voicing at fret five. Remember this is a major
chord voicing and therefore each chord name
you play will be a major chord.
