Exercise 1. Here you will be moving the finger
group across the guitar to the strings right
beside where you were. Remember this is what
we call “creeping”.
Keep your fingers together as a group when you
lift them off and when you put them down. Pick
them up together, move them together and put
them down together.
Don't worry about the sound of this exercise as
some of the note combinations sound a little off.
You must still try to get a clean sound though.
The aim is to get your fingers moving in the right
manner.
Practice as often as you need to perfect
moving this finger groups as it is the basis of
half the major chords. When you have control
over the finger groups then you will find it
easier to have control over the major chords.

The diagonal finger group of fingers 2 and 3
is a little harder than the straight group. A
hint is to let finger 3 lead as you move
towards the ceiling and let finger 2 lead as
you move towards the floor.
